As one of the oldest, largest, and most respected architectural firms in the region, JRA has shaped some of Kentucky’s most recognizable architectural landmarks over the past 80 years.
Today, JRA still remains singularly focused on shaping its clients’ visions into spaces that create fun, invigorating, productive, functional, and transformative experiences.
When the time came for JRA to refresh its own brand “space”, Black & White was tapped to lead the process.
We began the journey with our discovery phase, assessing local and national peer firms along with stakeholder exercises to help carve out a unique new position and close any perception gaps between JRA and its customers.
Black & White initiated a brand exploration.
We landed on a new mark that represents the origins of an architectural space from which JRA emanates, evoking its continual presence within the built environment and its enduring commitment to actualizing client visions.
The identity also signifies JRA’s solid foundation, dedication to growth, and collaborative workplace. The brand is conveyed through a series of marks, each symbolizing an experienced, steady presence. The primary color palette includes blue, communicating a loyal demeanor and blue sky imagination, and black and white accents that personify stability and timelessness.
To ensure visual brand standards are consistently applied, Black & White developed an identity standards manual.
We redesigned the company’s website with a focus on case studies that help express the architectural journeys on which JRA regularly embarks with its clients.
“With our new branding efforts, clients and national partners immediately feel a sense of comfort that we have the people, experience and culture to meet their needs.”
